You Can’t Go Home Again
Drawing from my Syrian background, this piece was intended to bring attention to the atrocities of the Syrian Civil War: old places considered to be safe being obliterated, chemical warfare, and children casualties. The location is based on the Umayyad Mosque in Aleppo, the city where my grandfather was born.
